Avemetatarsalians

Listed here are the avemetatarsalians that appeared on Prehistoric Planet. The two types featured on the show, dinosaurs and pterosaurs, are both specifically members of the ornithodira clade of avemetatarsalians. There are, however, less successful Triassic avemetatarsalians that do not fit in either group, like aphanosaurians, Mambachiton, and possibly Incertovenator. Of this highly successful clade, only the avian dinosaurs (birds) survived to the present day.
